Eight Spruce Street is Frank Gehry’s first skyscraper and is currently Manhattan’s tallest residential tower. Its stainless steel skin is made up of thousands of individual panels that assert the structure’s individuality. The first five floors house a public elementary school. Students have recess on the fourth floor roof deck, which is an outdoor play space.
